MAK FOLK are a four piece function band who specialise in playing at corporate and wedding functions.
They can cover a full range of both modern and ceilidh music. The line up for the ceilidh music features two fiddles, guitar and bass, whilst the line up for the modern music includes guitar, bass, electronic drums/percussion and lead vocals accompanied by four part harmonies.
They can play all the popular Scottish dances such as the Gay Gordon, Strip The Willow, Dashing White Sergeant etc., and also 'call' the dances to assist those not familiar with the steps.
Their repertoire of modern material covers the 50's to current chart hits, although the emphasis is always on established and well known hits that guarantee a full dance floor throughout the evening.
Artists they cover start from the rock 'n' roll 50's of Elvis and Buddy Holly, through the Swinging Sixties of the Beatles and the Monkees, the Motown era of the Foundations and the Four Tops, into the disco 70's of the Village People and Donna Summer. 80's and 90's covers include material by Dire Straits, Tom Jones, Eric Clapton, Pet Shop Boys and Billy Ocean, leading into more current chart hits by Ronan Keating, Westlife and Ricky Martin.
