Laurie Hartz emigrated from South Africa to Ireland thirty five years ago and began rebuilding his singing and entertaining career. He could not get the satisfaction he yearned for in his native country and thought he will try his luck in Ireland.
His first record was “Born into Rock and Roll” as an introduction to the Irish music scene, after that he started writing his own songs and had great success with 2 of them “Look what you’ve done to me” and the one he performed on the Late, Late Show “ What’s on your mind”. He also had tremendous success with Michael Jacksons “Ben”. Laurie became one of the hottest properties on the Irish live music scene.
Laurie was the supporting act in Dublin for some of Britons top stars of the 80’s, like “Freddie Star” “Sinita,” “Bronski Beat,” and “David Grant”. His television appearance includes, The Late, Late Show with Gay Burn, Make Music Mine, Gerry Ryan’s Secrets, Live at Three and Rock Nativity with Tony Hutch and Jackie Trent.

Besides his marvellous and lively style, his colourful clothes are eye catching, a fact which Terry Wogan complimented him on when introducing him on stage at the Castlebar International Song Festival in the late 70’s.
