When people think of traditional Scottish music, they usually imagine the sound of pipes, accordians and fiddles playing reels and soulful laments. While this is still true, it is not the only music that is being played by Scottish musicians today. Now there is the sound of FOURGOODMEN, the latest manifestation of celtic song. What makes FOURGOODMEN unique is their personnel. They are all original members of major Scottish bands who have enjoyed huge success in the music industry.
Derek Forbes - Simple Minds/ Propaganda
Ian Donaldson - H20
Mick Macneil - Simple Minds
Bruce Watson - Big Country
Between them, they've had almost 60 top 40 singles and 10 top 20 albums, 8 of them being No.1's. The total amount of records sold to date - 40 million ! Now, in the 21st century, they have come together to perform the hit songs that became the soundtrack for the lives of a generation, worldwide.
The bands debut show was at Glasgow Green in July 2005, performing to an audience of 15,000. A month later the band were top of the bill at the Mull Of Kintyre Music Festival in Campbeltown. Further high profile concerts and festivals in Scotland and Ireland have followed and have all been sell-outs.
Due to the reaction FOURGOODMEN have experienced after their live shows, and after many requests from radio stations in the UK, America and Europe, the band have started work on an album of brand new songs. FOURGOODMEN hope these songs will become new hits to add to the already established ones.
